Wash, Wear, Repeat: How to Care for Your Screen Printed Apparel 👕

Here’s 7 tips on how to show your printed tees and hoodies a little extra ❤️ 

1. Flip it Inside Out Before Washing

Before tossing your shirt into the wash, turn it inside out. This helps protect the print from rubbing up against other clothes (and the washing machine itself) which can cause fading and cracking.

2. Cold Water is Your Friend

Always wash your printed gear in cold water. Hot water is way harsher on the ink and fabric, and nobody wants a faded print after just a few washes.

3. Go Easy on the Spin Cycle

Pick a gentle or delicate cycle on your washing machine. A wild spin party inside the washer can be tough on prints, so keep it chill.

4. Use Mild Detergent 

Stick to a basic, mild detergent. Harsh chemicals, bleach, and fabric softeners can mess with the ink and fabric. Simple is better here.

5. Air Dry Whenever You Can

Dryers are handy, but the high heat can beat up your prints over time. If you can, hang your clothes to dry instead. If you must use a dryer, keep it on low heat — no hot blasts please!

6. Careful with the Iron!

If you need to iron your shirt, do it inside out and avoid putting the iron directly on the print. Better yet, use a cloth over the design just to be safe.

7. Store Properly

Keep your printed gear folded neatly or hanging up in a cool, dry place. Heavy stacking or stuffing them into a packed drawer? Not the best for long-term print life.
